I am a native Californian whose childhood and early adulthood were shaped by frequent moves, including time spent living in other states and abroad. Returning to California and establishing my current home has provided the most stability I’ve known, allowing me to deeply engage with the land and the rural community I inhabit. This sense of place informs my work across both photography and textiles.

Photography has been a tool for self-reflection since my teenage years, though my personal practice was largely set aside while I raised a family and worked professionally as a wedding and portrait photographer. During that time, I collaborated extensively with commercial photographers as an assistant and second shooter, navigating the challenges of sustaining a creative practice alongside caregiving. In response, I developed a parallel relationship with fiber art, which became a vital outlet during my children’s early years.

As my children grew older, I returned to formal education and completed a BFA in Photography at California College of the Arts in 2020. This return to school reawakened a dormant part of my artistic identity and continues to shape my work, which often revisits the intensity, tenderness, and transformation of parenting. My renewed use of film has been central to this creative revival, reinforcing the importance of process and materiality within my practice.

I currently maintain a balance of commercial and artistic work from my home studio, exploring motherhood, memory, and rural life through both photographic and textile-based approaches.
